A new ad featurering Eva giving her opinions on Mitt Romney’s positions on women’s health issues have surfaced online. I’ve posted it here for you all to see, and you can read more about it below!
Actresses Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington star in a new ad that highlights Mitt Romney’s positions on women’s health issues and criticizes the Republican Party for pushing legislation to “redefine” rape and force women to undergo transvaginal ultrasounds.
The ad, released by MoveOn.org Political Action and funded via contributions from more than 12,000 of the group’s members, is produced and directed Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner. “A Romney/Ryan administration would eviscerate women’s rights,” said Reiner in a statement. “We’d be talking about getting rid of abortion, birth control, access to health care screenings. As a husband, son and father, I can’t stand by and let this happen.”
In the commercial, which will air during shows primarily viewed by women, Longoria, Johansson and Washington make a direct appeal to the camera, encouraging women to familiarize themselves with where a Romney-Ryan administration stands on abortion and to vote for President Barack Obama. All three actresses have been vocal supporters of the president’s reelection campaign and all spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention last month.
The spot comes a week after Romney debuted a softer position toward abortion, stating in an interview that as president he would not push for anti-abortion legislation. His campaign was quick to walk back those comments, emphasizing that the Republican presidential nominee would “of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life.” The Obama campaign also released an ad in response to remind women of Romney’s past statements that he would “get rid of” federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

I used to be a die-hard fan, but just hate that actors feel they have to mix politics and their art. I disagree completely with Eva and support Romney-Ryan. What shame that she had to spoil my feelings about her by becoming political!!!!!
